
Organizational Information
Constitution and Purpose
The purpose of the Society shall be to federate and bring into one compact organization the entire medical profession in High Point and surrounding communities and to unite with other similar organizations in the state to form the North Carolina Medical Society with a view to the extension of medical knowledge and the advancement of medical science; to elevate the standards of medical service; to promote friendly intercourse among physicians; and to enlighten and inform the people with regard to the great problems of medical care and public health so that the profession will become more capable and honorable within itself and more useful in the prevention and cure of disease and in prolonging and adding comfort to life.
Community Responsibilities
The Society shall endeavor to develop understanding between medicine and the public, and it shall be ever ready to explain medicine’s position as it relates to ethics, science, or economics. The Society shall endeavor to educate its members to the belief that physicians shall recognize a responsibility to participate in activities contributing to an improved community.
